VISA 188C – SIGNIFICANT INVESTOR STREAM
Significant Investor Stream – Provisional
This is a visa category for high net worth investors who are willing to invest 5,000,000 AUD, equivalent to 85 billion VND, in investment portfolios as required by the Australian government.
The investor will be granted the 888C permanent residency visa with the right to permanent settlement in Australia if they maintain this investment amount for the duration of the 188C visa and meet all requirements as stipulated by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
BENEFIT
The primary applicant, along with their spouse and children under 23 years old, will be granted a 5-year temporary residency visa, which can be extended twice for 2 years each time.
Children of the primary applicant can receive free education at public schools from grade 1 to grade 12.
The entire family has the freedom to travel between Vietnam and Australia during the 188C visa period without requiring any other visa category.
There is an opportunity to improve English proficiency with 510 hours of free English language courses.
There is a chance to be granted the 888C permanent residency visa if all business and residency requirements are met as stipulated by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
The investor can receive returns from their investments without needing to directly manage or operate a business.
For the 188C investment category, there is no age requirement and no need to meet the points-based system for Australian immigration.
REQUIREMENT
The primary applicant must invest a minimum of 5,000,000 AUD, equivalent to 85 billion VND, in a mandatory investment portfolio in Australia and must provide evidence that the funds are legally obtained.
The primary applicant must meet the requirements for character and health checks.

This is a permanent residency visa for business people who already hold the 188C visa, allowing them to continue their investment activities in an Australian investment fund.
The spouse and children under 23 years old (at the time of visa application) of the primary applicant will also become permanent residents, along with the opportunity to hold dual citizenship of Australia and Vietnam.
BENEFIT
The entire family has the freedom to live, work, and study in all states and territories of Australia.
Children of the primary applicant can receive free education at public schools from grade 1 to grade 12.
The entire family can enjoy full healthcare and social welfare benefits as Australian citizens, except for the right to vote.
There is freedom to travel between Vietnam and Australia without restrictions.
There is an opportunity to obtain Australian citizenship for the entire family if all business and residency requirements are met.
CONDITION
The primary applicant and their family must not engage in any illegal business activities and must abide by the laws of Australia.
The investor must have a desire to continue their investment and business activities in Australia.
The primary applicant must maintain a minimum investment amount of 5,000,000 AUD, equivalent to 85 billion VND, throughout the 5-year temporary residency period of the 188C visa, with specific conditions as follows:
- At least 1,000,000 AUD, equivalent to 17 billion VND, must be invested in a venture capital fund and invested in start-up or small private companies.
- At least 1,500,000 AUD, equivalent to 25,5 billion VND, must be invested in approved managed funds to invest in emerging companies listed on the stock exchange.
- At least 2,500,000 AUD, equivalent to 42,5 billion VND, must be invested in a balanced investment fund to invest in listed companies on the stock exchange.
